We do this from just £975 inclusive. This is our basic funeral service designed for families who are seeking a simple cremation service, or where their budget is limited.

Where we operate We arrange for the collection of your loved one in normal working hours from hospital, hospice or coroner’s mortuary within 30 miles of our base in Enfield, Middlesex during normal working hours* (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays). Outside of this area (see Google map below) additional mileage is charged at £2.00 per mile in mainland UK.

If we are asked to collect outside of our normal weekday working hours or over Bank Holidays, we may be able to assist you but please note that an additional fee of £210 would apply.

Is a Funerals on a Budget direct cremation service right for me? A direct cremation gives you the choice and freedom to decide how you say goodbye to your loved one who has passed away, without having to arrange a traditional funeral. You can then arrange a private memorial service or celebration that you feel is most appropriate for you, your family and friends.

For some families the cost of a traditional funeral can be expensive as there are so many different elements that need to be considered, such as flowers, limousines and orders of service. There is no need for these added extras for a Funerals on a Budget direct cremation, as we look after the practical side with dignity and compassion, just without the presence of any mourners. While our fees are significantly cheaper than a full funeral, you can be reassured that all aspects are carried out to our high professional standards and with the utmost respect.
Our aim is to keep our costs low without compromising the quality of care we provide. Most of our funerals are arranged by phone, and there are a few legal and contractual documents for you to sign and return to us. There’s no need to organise any of the added extras that a traditional funeral would require, unless you and your family want to attend the service.

You can arrange everything via telephone, email and post; although we do have to send some official legal and contractual documents for you to sign and return to us. This means you can deal with arrangements at your convenience without taking additional time off work or making a special journey to a funeral home.

Many people now decide that they don’t want a fuss when they pass away and want their family not to have any additional stress in making the funeral arrangements. Our direct cremation funeral gives you the opportunity to respect their wishes and then create a separate memorial, tribute or celebration of their life that’s most appropriate to you, their family and friends.
If you have a distant member of your extended family who passes away, you could still be their next-of-kin and have to make arrangements for their funeral. A Funerals on a Budget direct cremation carried out to our high professional standards, ensures that they will have a dignified farewell. If you wish, their ashes can be scattered at the crematorium’s Garden of Remembrance.

Yes, that’s perfectly normal. Nursing or care homes may have instructed their nearest funeral director, or the family find that the local firm doesn’t offer the simple cremation they want.

Once you have asked us to carry out a direct cremation all you need to do is speak with the local funeral directors and confirm that you have decided to use Funerals on a Budget. We’ll get in touch with them to arrange to collect your loved one and ensure that the transfer is as smooth as possible. If you wish, we can add any of their transfer / care charges they have agreed with you into our invoice.

People claiming benefits may be entitled to help from the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP). The Gov.uk website Funeral Expenses Payment has helpful information. Depending on your current circumstances you could receive help in paying for costs of the doctor’s certificate of death, cremation fees and up to £700 for any funeral expenses including funeral directors’ fees and coffin transportation.
